Handsome Derrick handsover the spirit stick to Kai Lun!

She is the youngest cheerleader in our team and that was her plus point!!! Kai Lun is filled with so much energy and spirit, also the will to learn and improve fast. Her flexibility is overpowering!!!! watch her pull into her scorpion without any effort some day! Although her character is very quiet and shy, cheerleading practice in Legacy has transform her into a brave girl. What's more she teaches us what she have learn some times and that, made her the highest voted best cheerleader!

Her youthful and cheerfulness won everyone's heart ^.^

She is awarded the best cheerleader of September badge!!

CHEERS TO TEAM LIONS!

Our 2 Coaches Andra and Fairul, Treasurer Michelle and Secretary Karen is on the GO! (they are all from the Legacy Committee!)

Few months ago, they have went through Tryouts for the All-Star Team Singapore - LIONS - to compete in the Asian-Thailand Cheerleading Invitation 2011 Competition at Bangkok. The upcoming weekend will be their competition day in Thailand, the Lega-Lions cheerleaders have been training really hard for these two weeks with the rest of the Lions. Building high pyramids, tossing, springing, dancing, running, jumping all day, all night! We are glad that tonight at 9pm is their one and only Preview Showcase of the Team Lions' Routine, it's Singapore's first time having a team of cheerleaders from all fields coming together to put up a performance AND REPRESENTING OUR OWN COUNTRY!

Best 2 Cheerleaders of June!

The month of June!

WE HAVE 2 BEST CHEERLEADER OF THE MONTH!

One is voted by all the legacians who seen the particular cheerleader improve the most over the past one month, and the other one will be presented with a badge if he is the first to stand up and tell the why he deserves to be the Best Cheerleader of the Month...

From the first cheerleader who stood up and gave a speech to the team: Gary Shien

Why I deserved to be the Best Cheerleader?

Gary has been training with Legacy for almost a year and been to 3 cheerleading teams(Blazers, Wildcards and Legacy) He participated in the Singapore Kindness Movement Cheerfest 2010 with Legacy 16 men routine, Bangkok University Exchange 2010, National Cheerleading Championships Open Team category and many other bonding activities as well as Glee dance off!

He told us, "I have learned the most in Legacy", and have "Improved even more now since 2011 nationals". He is very grateful and want to thank everyone who supports him through his cheerleading trainings and endured the worst with him... because of his will to push on and the initiative to step out and voice his treasured moments in Legacy, Gary is awarded the first Best Cheerleader of the month in June!!!!

Marcus Lee!!

Congratulations to our Legacian, Marcus, who has a very positive attitude towards training and he goes to DOT(do-ourselves-training) regularly to improve himself! He is very kind in training -(always ask flyers permission whether he could stunt with them) and whenever he is given a feedback or a skill to learn, he will just knod his head and listen to it tentively.. I have never seen Marcus lose his temper during training and the mindset he have was to ensure flyer's safety while putting in the best that he can..

Marcus says: "Without everyone there I wouldn't be receiving this achievement.." "Thank you everyone!"

It's been two month since our spirit stick holder be passed on to guys!! Congratulations to Luqman.

Wonderful 6 pegs muscle man finally gotten a reward for being committed towards legacy trainings, do you believe this?? and he's only 2 months old in Legacy and he's now voted as the BEST CHEERLEADER OF MAY 2011 :D

Bonding Sunday with Legacy

Having a beach party and laying out our food (pot luck) on the beach mat! Fully excited to begin our Sunday tanning at the Sentosa Siloso Beach!

It started with the best lunch in the world and then we do what we do best!! ........Stunting on the unbalanced sand whoo hoo & in the waves of the sea!!! Who wants to top fly?

Then we proceeded to group up for games organised by our very own committee, we played 3 different games..

First game is for the long long distance : The Amazing Lega-Race!

Second is for the intimate wishy washy : 1 to 20 and the smiley!

Third is the incredible mad speedy: Point to point PT challenge!

The 5 Cheerleaders from different cheerleading teams came together and formed up to compete together a one minute group stunts routine and came back with glory!

hey there my fiery fighting phoenix's!

its a brand new season with fresh new committee and fresh new faces!
we have a lot in store ahead of us thus we need to remember to take care of ourselves and take care of our bodies.
discipline is key. watch your diet and do simple exercises to keep yourself fit and healthy. constant stretching so that we have beautiful jumps and wonderful flexibility!

to the newly born new birds, its important to remember what you learn at every training so whenever you come back for training you can improve faster and learn a lot more! also remember to not stunt without proper supervision of coaches. we dont want anyone to get hurt outside of training.

as for all the other kuku birds lets work together and help everyone improve so we can all progress together!

with that said, lets keep up the positive spirit every training.

Karen has showered her indefinite passion and love towards cheer and put in her best towards a common goal with Legacians for last March, nationals season!

It was a really tight fight between 3 other Legacians!

Yes! we have just competed in the Singapore National Cheerleading Championship 2011 last Sunday and it was a truly new experience to us as it is Legacy's first time competiting in the competitive open cheerleading segment!

Although we did not win any placing it doesn't mean we are not winners

Everyone is a champion if our own way and winner of ourselves on the day as we have given the best on our routine! We have sacrificed so much time for this and the experience we have is worth it, it's amazing and cannot be explained into words.

I am sure of that and I can feel Legacy feeling the same way as I do. We are very very happy to be at the competition and we hope that Legacy fans and supporters feel the same way for us as well!

Exchange programn with Bangkok University Cheerleaders, Thailand

In collaboration with BU Coach P'Toey, our Head Coach Lenny had brought us a chance to have an exchange programn with Bangkok University Cheerleading Team! They are the Number One team in Thailand and won multiple Championships at National competitions.

Here's our experience travelling as team from Singapore to Bangkok!

Soon in 2 hours, we arrived in Bangkok and checked in at Imm Fushion hotel, A place to rest after our trainings!

DAY ONE

Going to BU campus!

We will have Gymnastics training for our third training..

Everyone was quite afraid cos it's our first time to be trained under a gymnastic coach who have trained students of national standards!

Through this gymnastics session, we manage to find out more on our body muscles and awareness of our body has become better! It was an efficient training and time had passed in a split eye!

We gathered and took a photo with BU's Gymnastics Coach!

Time to advance in our gymnastics, practice and improve on what we learned in bangkok!

BU Cheerleaders and management had prepared home-cooked food for all of us!

We were very touched and thankful for their kind gesture!

Every time P'toey talks we would listen very attentively..

He is really sharp and precise on techniques, it was a good thing as we can improve faster with the correct

So the team took a mini trip down to the studio to make memories last longer. The committee thought, it would be really nice for the members to have a personal picture of themselves to remember for a long long time, to show to their kids in the future and probably psycho them into being cheerleaders as well. Amongst all those hard training days, the team deserved a moment for themselves. needless to say, our talented photographer KAI BONG, did manage to capture our personalities on camera. A portrait of a cheerleader, a LEGACY cheerleader in our most natural self, without that intensive cheer face expression (ok, for some of us, its considered natural).

WHOSE THE NEXT BLIND MICE??

Legacy not only trains hard. we play hard too!!!!!
Every month we would definitely have an unexpected training to bond team members together and play games!! One of the games we played were dog and bone where we were split into 2 teams standing at the end of the mats' borders. Coach Lenny would call out a number and the numbered member in each team has to run out to grab the bone!
Then the number of "doggies" and "bones" gets bigger and we had to strategise our moves......
At the end.. one team would lose and have to do the forfeit ;P

The next favourite game in Legacy is the Blind Mice game!!
We had rules for this game and one of it is the "FREEZE" power!!!!
The Blind mice can use this power for 3 times and when he shouts this command, everyone must not move while blind mice have 5 seconds to catch another mice!!

Watch out for Selvam's "Pencil Roll" trick!!! It's works!!

IT'S NEVER TOO OLD TO CHEER

If you had picked up the Sunday Times and flipped it open, you can spot this article featuring a few of the open cheerleading teams in Singapore. No doubt, 30% of Legacy's strength is made up entirely of working individuals, from national servicemen to managers, executives, writers, financial planners to boutique assistants, even our coaches are working full time. We are extremely grateful to their devotion to the team and often being the da ge and da jie's of the team, taking care and being very understanding
to the younger members and keeping the team strong by leading examples. Its never easy for them, to make sacrifices or to face up to their boss's when there's a need to take that urgent leave for an important cheerleading event. Balancing both work and passion is never easy, but when they put their heart into it and bonded an agreement to live their passion, all i can say is...THEY ARE GETTING PRETTY AWESOME AT IT. Who said u can't cheer after 40 ?! All it takes is a little time management and a big passionate smile. =)))

With the general population of Singaporean cheerleaders, who are not very much educated in gymnastics in schools that we go too, i'm sure we've all put in tons and tons of efforts, in that short transition of time to transform ourselves from libarians, band members or uniform club members to become the now cheerleaders that we are. And i must say, what an impressive talent we singaporeans are, to meet up each year's improving expectations, set by amazing cheerleading teams around our country. By saying this, I'm very sure many of us, have signed up with no experience, but yet still stood right up to meet that high standard stunt given to us by our coach.

By saying that,

When ever we try something new and might not succeed, and tell ourselves....

"Man...this is impossible....wth."

Lets not forget there are people out there, who have shown us, nothing is physically

impossible if we put our little powerful mind to it and make things happen. If they

can do it, what we are doing is strawberry shortcake.

I mean...just look at how the china guys swing his team mate like a banana

(its against our rule hor, just stating possibilities). WOWwee...wee!

I'm very sure the circus have no problems recruiting now.

I'm so happy for you even though i can't be there to witness your presentation ceremony!

Sue has been constantly improving in her learning towards cheerleading and is a role model for everyone in the team to learn from as well. Recently she has been positioned to be the top flyer of legacy and had done well being versatile of both mid base and top flyer positions. She controls her stunts well on tosses and locks really tight like a plank! She inspired us for having so much bravery to execute her gymnastic moves.

I am sure we Legacians attended the talk and came out agreeing to the extends of the topics that were layed out at the theatrette and learned a lot of life skills, also gaining the will and determination to goals-achieveing mind sets.

Whether there are too much choices in this life? or whether you feel like you can't decide?
Miss Merry Riana made a good point of her 2 'D's in her life which made her a successful women at a young age.
We should start with making a Decision, then be Disciplined to accomplish it(your goal).

I feel that everything in life is similar. Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up. Always remember there is never a short cut to success and it goes the same for everyone.

The young entrepreneur Merry Riana never came to an end or fullstop after achieving each of her goals, she set for a higher goal one after another.

And everything won't happen if you are not sure WHY you MUST have it.
NOT how you want it to be.

It gave me a strong and great reminder that sometimes in life the WHY is more important than the HOW. It's time for a positive map drawing on our minds!

and Unice who puts in all her effort to ensure that we have enough time, enough practise, space in the changing rooms, food and beverages especially her hard work behind the stage, keeping us informed of our rehearsals and performance time slots.

Legacy All-Stars cheerleaders are very honoured to perform cheerleading for the whole stadium of Rainie Yang's fans while she prepares at back stage after she sings her famous song titled "匿名的好友"

Coach Lenny Foo (Head Coach)

On 5 April 2009 Lenny Foo Formed Legacy All-Stars Cheerleading Team
With a group of talented coaches and executive committee

This Team (2009) consist of a small group of less than 20 cheerleaders then:

The male Cheerleaders proudly raise their hand in unity as a Legacian

The GIRLS legacian were named le(GIRL)cians by Lenny!

And as you can see from the below designs that were sketched out by Lenny as well.
Being talented on both cheerleading and fashion, he was also our best fashion artist/designer for our cheer uniforms!

There we have our first uniform in production...

And you have us excitedly in our new uniform as a team the FIRST TIME!
Many of us were from different team, We gain and build the bond within ourselves through trainings and practices twice every week.

We had also personalised customised Legacy training Bags which we could use it to recognise ourselves in the team.
Lenny and some team members helped by organising and looking for materials to the transformation of the Legacy Bag.
It gave us a sense of belonging in the team.

Lenny guided the young cheerleaders and gave us the best ground, best training, best team.

Within a short 3 month bonding and training session, we put up our 1st performance:

Gradually, Lenny gave us chances to be able to expose to larger scale performances
Like the Youth Olympic Games 1 year to go Countdown event at The Padang

Above all the training and performances, Lenny had also arranged a photoshoot session

Lenny Leaves Singapore...for further Studies in London

We didn't want the night to end....

At the Airport sending Lenny off to his London trip.

We were all supportive of his decision for persuing his passion for Fashion and go ahead with his dreams as a Top Fashion Designer.
A Fashion Degree in London was a rare chance which he shouldn't miss again!

It made our training really efficient as your encouraging words were influential to everyone of us.

with Andra as our coach too!

Coaches Citra and Andra had also drew out routines that were strong and impactful for competitions such as Standard Chartered Cheer Day Out 2009

During 1 week before our national competition..
It felt really great to welcome his arrival and everyone were surprised to see him appear at training!

Lenny was around to again influence our mind set to become better and stronger and tougher.

Along with all the coaches and team members, we had our own opening training day exclusively and interacted with cheerleaders from Magnum Force, Blazers, Gusto and Victoria JC!

Lenny completed his short stay with us and returned to London to finish his Year 1.

Legacy grew larger, with more team members and prepared for our next competition.
The Annual Kindness CheerFest at Ngee Ann City:

Coach Lenny from London had designed another set of uniform for the brand new image.
The theme was a Pheonix :

Lenny had also made the extra efforts to connect a Tailor from Bangkok. Na Seow to tailor make our uniforms!

Na Seow arrived 2 days before our competition day to fit our uniforms

Lenny was around on SKYPE to communicate with Na Seow and to ensure his uniform design is made accordingly.

The new uniform was really a blast!!
We all love it so much!

As Lenny Completes his Degree studies in London
He came back Singapore for good. He wanted to stay with us to continue his passion for Cheerleading.
He told us, he couldn't give up on cheerleading nor fashion, but his heart told him to come back and stay.
